High pressure water jet cutting is a relatively new technology. In recent years, considereable attention has been paid to this subject for its superiority to other cutting approaches. The present paper dscribes the study of high pressure water jet cutting device and cutting test for non-metal plate material. The relationship between the depth of cutting and the jet pressure, nozzle diameter, stand-off and traverse velocity is briefly described here. The effect of polymer additives on jet performance is also dealt with. And the complex profile cutting for plate material is also included.
