It is found very advantageous to use the Fresnel's lens to replace a piano-convex lens or an aspherical lens in the illuminating devices. The present article deals with the design principle, calculating method and selection of parameters. The illuminating Fresnel's lenses that we have manufactured have an extraordinary good performance. Details of the excellent results obtained in the tests are also reported in this paper.
