Abstract:This paper presents an improved desirability function algorithm to handle the multiple objective optimization problem on the basis of the desirability function algorithm suggested by E. C. Harrington. In the present paper, the "min-operator" is employed to formulate the general desirability function of all the objectives, making the linear multiple objective optimization problem maintain its linearity in optimization and change into a single objective linear programming problem. The effectiveness of the solutions derived from this algorithm is proved, and a numerical example is also provided in the paper.
