The presentpaper deals with thermocapillary heat convection in a liquid laycr moving in a planar straight channel. The temperature gradient in vertical direction is treated of on the basis of Levich model. Two flow models are discussed, i. e. linear flow and return flow. The numerical methods of Patanker-Spalding are used to predict the flow and heat transfer performance. The relationship between flow and heat transfer is obtained. A teat-bed is set up to measure the surface velocity of ethylalcohol layer at different temperature gradients of the wall. The deviation between experimental data and numerical prediction is about 20%.
