The present paper looks briefly at the experimental research on impact pressure characteristics conducted in the high-pressure waterjet cutting device.A general pressure equation is obtained and the relationship between the impact pressure and the stand-off and pump pressure is described. It is shown that an increase in stand-off will. cause a decrease in the impact pressure which increases linearly with the pump pressure. The impact pressure suffers a pressure head loss due to ihe waterjet system. Moreover, the experimental results-in which the impact pressure characteristics can be improved by the smaller stand-off are fully in agreement with the data of the analysis of the concentration on the waterjet flow.
