Management Information Systems (MIS) is a powerful approach to the modernization of enterprise management. It has been widely used in developed countries of the world today. Although MIS was developed a bit later in China, it has increased rapidly in scope over the past ten years. There exist some experiences of success and lessons of failure. Thus, this paper is focused on analysing and summarizing the author's own work and the existing problems for MIS development in China. Some ways to further the development of MIS are also suggested in the paper.
