The Youden analysis which is now commonly used in the intercomparison between flowmeter calibration facilities is discussed in this paper. According to the theory of probability and theory of errors, an improved statistical analysis method based on the t-distribution, which can be used to calculate the radius of the Youden circle, is presented by the authors. It is expected that the statistically analytical results of the laboratory intercomparison by use of the improved method would be more accurate, and reliable.
