Recent economic reforms in Centrally Planned Economies (CPEs) have ledto verydifferent results: recession in Central and Eastern Europe (CEEs) but boom in China.Descriptive statistical methods have been employed to present various economic performance indicators for some of the countries undergoing economic reform. Issues on the theory, timing, speed, scope,andsequencing of reforming CPEs are investigated and examined.
