A finite element method to analyse and calculate the strength of the belt teeth meshed with the pulley is provided. The rule of load distribution of belt teeth is found out and the accuracy of the numerical analysis is verified by the experiments. A lot of factors which influence the load distribution, are analysed and an effective way for enhancing the strength of belt teeth and making the load on them Well-distributed is then proposed.
