Abstract:Few literature on aerodynamic and aeroacoustic performance of an axial fan with skewed swept rotor blades in rotating stall is presented. Flow field of the testing fan with skewed swept rotor blades in rotating stall condition and its forward and rearward condition were measured and compared to that of a fan with radial (conventional) rotor blades of the same geometrical parameters under the condition of the same peak pressure. The different experiment results of variable working condition performances of the fans with either skewed swept rotor blades or radial rotor blades are described in detail. The influence of skewed swept rotor blade on rotating stall characteristic parameters__the number, size, position and propagation speed of rotating stall cell is discussed. The incidence angle distribution of rotor and stator at the minimum flow of the steady working condition and the aerodynamic performance of the low flow steady working condition were measured. Noise of the fan with skewed swept rotor blades is always lower than that of the fan with radial rotor blades. The improvement effect of skewed swept rotor blades on flow field in rotating stall, and the mechanism of flow field variation in rotating stall caused by skewed swept rotor blades have been analyzed.
