Considering synthetically the limited precision of the machine tool, the test cost of the products and the loss due to waste product etc.,test method for product at every working procedure is presented in this paper on the base of ratedistortion theory to ensure a lowest production cost. The study supplies a basis for determination of product test method at every working procedure. An example is demonstrated to describe the application of the method offered.
