Abstract:Contraposing the Non-Fourier heat conduction phenomenon experimentally observed in porous material, in the paper the dual-phase lag (DPL) model is employed to describe it and the corresponding numerical solution is obtained. The solution indicates that if the parameters, (T and (q are assumed to be suitable values, the DPL model can predict the experimental Non-Fourier heat conduction phenomenon qualitatively; if the ratio (T /(q is assumed to be different values, different types of Non-Fourier heat conduction behavior will appear in the medium. Accordingly, a comparatively suitable definition of Non-Fourier heat conduction is obtained which indicates that the Non-Fourier heat conduction is not the equivalent of heat wave it is pointed out.
