A progressive elastic-plastic numerical model is proposed. Its main idea is to simulate the gradual process of plasticity development by the variation of the rigidity of springs attached to the ends and to the middle part of the member. Theoretically, this model is accurate and shows its advantage to the advanced structural analysis. Its validity is verified by examples.
