Abstract:A novel solid adsorption cooling tube driven by waste heat is proposed in the paper. This cooling tube, with no throttling component and no moving part, has simple structure and high strength and only single one tube is enough to form a complete refrigerating system and thus to get food seal and convenience for use. The effect of recharge quantity of refrigerant (adsorbate) under the condition of keeping the adsorbent quantity constant on performance of the cooling tube is studied in the paper. Because of that the performance of adsorption cooling tube is in strong coupling with exterior ambient parameters such as ambient temperature, heat source temperature, air velocity and air relative humidity, a series of experiments about the effects of the ambient parameters on its performance are performed. Zeolite-water is used in this study.
