Abstract:In order to investigate the effects of the electric field on bubbles,a mathematical model is established to predict the electric field distribution in a gas-liquid two-phase system under the action of a uniform field. The model can account for the presence of a single bubble and multiple bubbles being attached to one plate, departing from the plate, and floating into the space of parallel plates. The results indicate that the electric field intensity and its uniformity around bubbles play an important role in the movement of bubbles. When a number of bubbles generate and some of them depart into the main fluid, the effects of the electric field decrease. The study lays a theoretical foundation for diminishing EHD effects as the boiling heat flux produces greater number of bubbles.
