Abstract:An experimental system for the micro-gas turbine swirl combustion chamber is established. The velocity field inside the combustor liner is measured with two-dimensional particle image velocimetry. The model combustion chamber consists mainly of three swirlers and a cylindrical shell with a side-window for PIV image capture.Velocity-vector diagrams and time-averaged swirl velocity profiles at the central longitudinal section and different cross sections of the combustion chamber at a total air-stream flow 0.114 m~3/s are obtained and analyzed, which is of importance to the numerical simulation and further experimental studies of the swirl combustion chamber.
