Abstract:The performances of kaolin dynamic membrane, formed on the inner wall of a ceramic tube for the filtration of secondary effluent from domestic wastewater treatment plant are studied, and its cleaning and regeneration methods are investingated. It shows that the membrane gives almost the same characters when the concentration of kaolin is between 0.3 to 0.7 g/L, and the deposit time between 10 to 37 minutes. The transmembrane pressure and especially the crossflow velocity have important effects on the filtration processes, Dynamic membrane can be used effectively with turbidity removal rate nearly 100%, and COD removal rate about 40%, Cleaning and regeneration of the dynamic membrane are very convenient if necessary.
