In order to improve the end coupling ratio between waveguide and fiber,a novel spot-size converter with graded refractive index distribution was designed based on the photo-induced refractive index polymethylphenylsilane waveguide.According to the beam propagation method(BPM)simula- tion results,it is proven that the coupling ratio rises from conventional 78% to 91% by using the spot -size converter.
