Abstract:A cooling-tube-knockdown adsorption airconditioning system powered by waste heat has been designed and manufactured, which is used to attempt to provide air conditioning in the driver's cab of transportation vehicles or boats.A series of performance experiments for the adsorption air conditioner were carried out.The refrigerating properties of the adsorption air conditioner were studied and analyzed under different heat source temperatures, ambient air temperatures, cold medium air quantities, and cycle times. The results show that within a certain scope the rise of heat source temperature and cold medium air quantity, and the decrease of ambient air temperature are helpful for the improvement of performance of airconditioning system. There exists an optimum range for the cycle time and the experiment study indicates that the cycle time of 30 minutes selected is more reasonable for the adsorption air conditioner.
