Abstract:The computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method is used to simulate numerically the two phase flow of gas and liquid in a demister with corrugated baffle.The demisting efficiency and pressure drop under various droplet diameters, gas velocities and plate spacings are provided.The effects of main design parameters on the demisting efficiency and pressure drop are analyzed.The simulation also shows the tracks of droplets,and the detailed distributions of pressure,velocity,vortex and droplet concentration,which are instructional to the optimal design of demister.The study indicates that CFD method can be employed as an effective means in demister design.
