The properties of CO2 gas hydrate formation were investigated with a high-pressure test cell.Organo silicone surfactants Silwet L-77 and Silwet 408 were used in the test.The results demonstrate that the formation rate of CO2 hydrate is rather slow in a quiescent system without surfactant,and hydrates are formed only at the gas-water interface.Surfactant solution can decrease the gas-liquid mass transfer resistance and improve CO2 hydrate formation rate obviously,but the induction time is less pronounced.Surfactant Silwet L-77 with 0.1% concentration is the most effective,which increases CO2 hydrate formation rate about 4 times comparing to that without surfactant.
