A special natural gas hydrate storage apparatus using water spraying was designed to study the gas hydrate formation characteristics enhanced by spraying water. The pressure trend, the gas hydrate formation rate and amount were observed under different initial pressures and initial temperatures in the reaction vessel. The gas hydrate formation characteristics with intermittent gas entry or continuous gas entry were compared. The experiment results show that the higher the initial pressure,or the lower the initial temperature, the quicker the hydrate forms, and the formed hydrate increases when the pressure increases or the temperature decreases.By comparison of different gas entry modes,it is found that the hydrate formation rate of continuous gas entry mode is more higher than that of intermittent gas entry mode, while the energy consume rate of continuous gas entry mode is lower than that of intermittent gas entry mode.It indicates that the hydrate formation rate and efficiency of continuous gas entry mode are better than that of intermittent gas entry mode.
