On the basis of review on economic equilibrium theories and equilibrium analysis,the connotative meaning of economic complexity was probed and two fundamental representations of economic complexity,i.e. emergence complexity and evolution complexity were discussed.Key roles of inductive reasoning and multiagents modeling in economic complexity research were emphasized.It is also argued that the paradigm from equilibrium to complexity implies an effective way to return to the origin of economic system and to promote scientificity of economics.
