Abstract:According to the situation that at the intersection of signal control exist high saturation phase as well as different saturation between phases,a kind of signal timing method was put forward based on the game theory to alleviate the traffic congestion of high saturation approaches and to reduce the delay.According to the different saturation of lanes,based on the analysis of game relationship between flow and signal timing,a signal timing model was built in the light of the game theory.Iteration steps of a new timing plan were set up and related parameters were calibrated.The effect of the presented signal timing and the present situation of traffic demand were analysed with practical examples.The results show that the assigned effective green time of low saturation phase reduces,the approach delay rises by 7.23%;the assigned effective green time of high saturation phase increases,the approach delay reduces by 5.91%;and the total delay of approaches reduces by 1.03%,being better than the original signal timing plan.
