Abstract:The OTE(over tunnel exhaust) duct is normally applied to control smoke at the track area in a subway station when the train catches fire.Concrete is widely adopted as the material for the construction of OTE duct and the wind leakage in the OTE duct usually appears. So,utilizing the OTE duct to control smoke makes a hidden danger. Two different smoke control modes,i.e.,longitudinal and transverse smoke control strategies, were introduced when there is a fire at the track area of subway station. The system design requirements for the two different smoke control modes and the safe evacuation strategies were proposed.Besides, the analysis of smoke control strategies in the light of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was also briefly presented. The current research can provide theoretical support for the anti-disaster design of a subway station.
