The plate baffle heat exchanger in some petrochemical plant has often suffered from pipe leak.The reason of the pipe leak was analysed in detail and a transformation plan of replacing plate baffle with rod baffle was proposed.This reform not only solves the problem of pipe leak caused by severe vibration,but also increases the heat transfer coefficient by 34%,and reduces shell flow resistance by 23%.It's proved that the transformation achieves a good effect.
