The elastic structure analysis on a skin pass mill housing was carried out by means of finite element analysis software Ansys and the details about the deformation and load distribution during leveling process were obtained.The housing was analysed theoretically at the same time according to the theory of engineering mechanics and the results were compared with those by Ansys in order to complete the optimization design of the skin pass mill housing.
