Abstract:To explore the graphical route information panel's(GRIP's) impacts and its influential degree on the driver route choice, with the help of a graphics board information release platform to provide the nature of traffic problems in front of the road and to learn the severity of the accident,a full factorial design method was adopted to figure six kinds of assumed traffic scenario message boards. The drivers' route choice behavior data was obtained under these six scenarios. With the discrete choice analysis method,a multivariate analysis about the influencing factors on route choice behavior was conducted, and a multi-path selection probabilities logit model was established. It is shown that the path selection of drivers under GRIP can be affected by the degree of GRIP influence cognition, car type, monthly income, the nature of traffic and the severity of the problems which influence their route choice decision to some extent.
