Acoustic agglomeration is an effective pretreatment method to reduce inhalable particulate pollution. But the single acoustic agglomeration costs more energy and the efficiency of fine particles removal is relatively low under the existing sound source condition. It is common to combine the acoustic agglomeration with other methods to effectively remove the fine particles. The agglomeration mechanism and experimental sets for the technique of seed particles, spray and vapor condensation combined with acoustic agglomeration were introduced respectively. The theoretical basis of improving the efficiency and the influencing factors of the three combined methods were analyzed in detail. The advantages and disadvantages and the application area of the three combined methods were compared. The agglomeration theory is enhanced and the advantages of the combined processes stand out which proposes the research direction for the combination agglomeration. The method presented provides a better way to remove fine particles and reduce environmental pollution efficiently.
