Abstract:In order to enhance the effect of the dynamic lane assignment technology,and reduce the negative impact on traffic capacity and the inadaptation on drivers during the changing of lane assignment,an implementation method was proposed.The method consists of two steps.The first step is to identify a suitable implementation scheme by determining a binary-type threshold.The second step is to obtain the best changing time of the optimal lane assignment scheme in consideration of safety,efficiency,and speediness.The results of numerical examples show that not all the optimal schemes of the dynamic lane assignment are necessary to be used.Moreover,the proposed method could find a suitable changing time according to the optimization and the status quo lane assignments as well as the signal phase schemes.
