Abstract:Based on the experimental velocity data of a model room with a panel under low Reynolds number condition, the effects of four turbulence models (the standard k-ε model, realizable k-ε model, RNG k-ε model and SST k-ω model) and four wall functions (the standard wall function, scalable wall function, non-equilibrium wall function and enhanced wall function) on indoor air flow simulations were compared using ANSYS Fluent software. The results show that all the four turbulence models can well predict the flow and the RNG k-ε turbulence model performs best, but the prediction difference among the four models is not significant. When adopting medium meshes, the standard wall function can give satisfactory results while the performances of other three wall functions are not very well.
