Abstract:By using the pseudo-potential model based on lattice Boltzmann method, for the flow of two liquid phases with similar densities, the formation of droplets of different shapes in the T-junction microchannel was simulated. The simulation results are consistent with the experimental results. The effects of the capillary number, flow ratio and viscosity ratio on the size and spacing of droplets were analyzed, and the numerical formulas summarized from the simulation results for considering the influence of various factors were also provided, whose results are also close to the experimental ones. The influences of the continuous phase capillary number and two-phase flow ratio are relatively great, while the viscosity ratio of two-phases has little influence on it.
