Abstract:Schizophytrium sp. was used as raw material and methanol and ethanol were employed as carriers in this study. The Soxhlet method was adopted for extraction and comparison to obtain the most suitable carrier. Then, the ultrasonic method was used for investigating and comparing the rate of extraction. The results show that the extraction rate with ethanol as the carrier is higher. When using the Soxhlet extraction method, the maximum extraction rate is 30.5% under optimal conditions (time duration 8 h, temperature 100℃, liquid to solid ratio 10:1). When using the ultrasonic method, still with ethanol as the carrier, the maximum extraction rate is 53.5% under optimal conditions (time duration 2 h, temperature 40℃, liquid to solid ratio 120:1, ultrasonic power 600 W). It can be seen from the extraction rate of algae crude oil, the ultrasonic method is superior to the Soxhlet extraction.
