Abstract:According to the application condition of asphalt pavements, the direct shear test was used to evaluate the interlaminar bonding effect in order to meet the pavement durability requirements. The composite Marshall specimen molding method was designed and its results on core specimens were contrasted with the composite plate shear test results. It is found the former has better stability. It is also shown that the boiled adhesion test can effectively characterize the water stripping resistance of adhesive layer materials, which is one of the important factors affecting the bonding performance between layers. Through the analysis of the adhesion test results of emulsified asphalt, the quantified index of asphalt quality, instead of the area coating rate, can evaluate the stripping resistance more accurately and effectively and the test results also have a good stability.
