Abstract:By virtue of a device of electrokinetic (EK) with permeable reactive barrier (PRB) with swithchable array electrodes, the influences of voltage gradient and water content on the removing effects were studied when using a kind of soil heavy metal repairing device to remediate Pb(II)-contaminated kaolin, and using the combination of zeolite and fly ash as filling material. The repair period was set as 5 d. Different voltage gradients (1.5, 2.0, 2.5 V/cm) and water content (25%, 30%, 35%) were set and 9 orthogonal tests were conducted. The results show that both enhancing the voltage gradient and increasing water content have enhancement effect on removing Pb(II). It is concluded that when zeolite + fly ash is used as the PRB material, the optimal combination of water content and voltage gradient,in the EK-PRB remediation of Pb (II) contaminated soil is 2.5 V/cm and 35%. The removal rate reaches 80.7%. The feasibility of EK-PRB combined repair technology in the treatment of Pb(II) contaminated kaolin was proved when zeolite and fly ash were used as a composite material. The results provide the support and basis for the development of EK-PRB in the modification and innovation of PRB materials.
