Abstract:Aiming at the difficulty of directly identifying the constitutive parameters of rolling resistance between particles using physical experiment of resistance measurement, an experimental method for identifying the parameters of MDEM (modified discrete element method) model and HDEM (hysteresis discrete element method) model was proposed. Based on the process of swing back and forth of free rolling particle, two formulas for identifying rolling stiffness coefficient Kr and rolling damping coefficient Cr in MDEM model were derived, and an experimental device for measuring time-history displacement curve of swing using a laser displacement sensor was set up. Another identifying method based on material uniaxial cyclic tensile experiment was utilized to measure the hysteresis curve of particle material on cycling load and unload, and the elastic hysteresis coefficient β was identified through fitting the experimental curves. The experimental results show that these two methods can well identify the rolling resistance constitutive parameters of particles.
